Fiercely REDefined 

A fairly new dance/drill team, which was started in July 2015.

Fiercely Redefined was formed together by seven coaches who all had some previous background in dance or and or cheer. Markesha Ann Blackman owner of Hip Hop Redefined a fitness dance instructor had the dream of bringing dance to children in her community. Growing up Markesha always found solace within the walls of dance, she never paid for an instruction but somehow always found herself in the middle of someone's dance team. Dance taught Markesha the importance of following your dreams. Dancing has made a huge impact in Markesha's life which has motivated her to inspire young girls who wear the same shoes she once wore. Ms. Blackman sought out other passionate woman that were interested in building into the youth in their community. she then teamed up with with a few coaches Angel Bonds, Bobbi Kimble, K-Ana Powell, and Shenita Hurt. they all shared the dream of making a difference in a child’s life and wanted to make a difference through dance. Thus, after all meeting together, brainstorming ideas and a team name, on July 3, 2015, Fiercely Redefined a non-profit dance and drill team was officially born. 

 

FR immediately began team tryouts and quickly welcomed over 30 children. This organization is a place of friendship, love, and where they give bravery a new name, Fiercely Redefined. It is an organization that uplifts one another, is meant to build strength, and exude empowerment. FR is a place where children can leave their troubles outside, but bring their hurt or anger and put it to a beat, and dance fiercely. FR is a no bully zone team, a safe place where children can redefine themselves, their future, overcome cultural differences, and rise above community expectations.
